The You Tube is an instructional video of the DW300 model. Different models are rated in various wattages.
THE DW100 CAN BE USED ON APPLIANCES THAT USE 71 WATT OR LESS. (Maximum recommended wattage. This allows for surges in appliance load). The DW100 is the lowest wattage model in the range. Choose other models if your appliance specs is higher than 71 watts
Convert appliances that operate on AC 110v or 120v to be used on mains voltage of 220v.
The converter does not convert the frequency and will be at 50Hz if connecting to South African mains supply
Appliance wattage can be found where the input power label is located. If converter is overloaded the converter will blow a fuse or burn out. If unsure which converter model to choose contact Satronics or contact supplier of appliance. Note this converter is plug and play. Plug cord with 3 pin plug into mains and insert your appliance on front panel.
What is Hertz – 50 Hz vs. 60 Hz
Hz is an abbreviation for Hertz, or cycles. One cycle per second equals one hertz, or 1Hz. North American110-120 volt electricity is generated at 60 Hz (60 cycles per second) alternating current. Most foreign 220–240-volt electricity is generated at 50 Hz (50 cycles per second) alternating current. This cycle difference will cause analog clocks and timing circuits that use alternating current as a timing base to keep incorrect time. However, most modern electronic equipment including cellular phone chargers, computers, printers, stereos, tape and CD players, VCR/DVD players, CRT, Plasma, or LCD TVs and Monitors, etc. will not be affected by the difference in cycles.
